If you need to know server model or serial number, it is not necessary to run all sorts of tools to manage the server or collecting information and has much less of than to go to the server. All of this can be found without leaving your computer.
For Windows systems, you must run the command line and learn interesting information by means of Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI):
– Manufacturer:
wmic csproduct get vendor
– Serial number
wmic bios get serialnumber
– Model:
wmic csproduct get name
For Linux systems, there is a utility dmidecode. The utility is usually installed in the distribution, but if not, it can always be set separately.
