With the continuous expansion of hard disk storage space, the original system file format is a bit behind the speed of hard drive capacity, especially for 2T mobile hard disk, the traditional MBR partition table can support 2T addressing space, so if the MBR partition table, that only 2T 3T hard disk space. We command in superuser mode view hard drive devices mounted, assuming a number of/dev/sdb, next we use parted to GPT partition:
1. # parted /dev/sdb

2. format the MBR disk GPT
(parted) mklabel gpt
3. divide all the space to a partition
(parted) mkpart primary 0 -1
This step can also be set:
Unit TB (set the units to TB)
Mkpart primary 0 3 (set to a primary partition, is 3TB in size, beginning with 0, ending 3)
4. display partition size set
5. exit the parted program
6. After using parted to partition, format, after which it will be mounted using
mkfs.ext3 -F /dev/sdb1
