To install MySQL in CentOS, run the following command:
su
yum install mysql-server
Start the MySQL Server
service mysqld start
Check the performance of the MySQL server:
netstat -tap | grep mysql
tcp 0 0 *:mysql *:* LISTEN 2529/mysqld
Add the MySQL Daemon at startup CentOS:
/sbin/chkconfig –level 345 mysqld on
Access to the database after you install MySQL in CentOS without the password for any user.
mysql -u root
