Initialize the hard disk.
Create a directory for the drive for example hdd01:
# mkdir/hdd01
Formatiruem hard disk, the file sistemaext3:
# mkfs–t ext3/dev/hda1
Mount the disk with the commands:
# mount/dev/hda1/hdd01
Check for errors, to avoid problems with the file system from mount them:
# umount/dev/hda1
# fsck/dev/hda1
Mount the hard drive.
Create a directory for the drive for example hdd01:
# mkdir/hdd01
Mount the disk with the commands:
# mount/dev/hda1/hdd01
Automatic mounting.
Add automatic mounting of hard drives at boot, edit/etc/fstab file in any editor:
# vi etc/fstab
Add the line:
/dev/hda1/hdd01 ext3 defaults 0 0
